Quick Tip: Photoshop disables 'escape' key (windows)

I don't know how or why, but on Windows Vista, I lose the functionality of the 'escape' key (in all programs other than Photoshop) when I have Photoshop CS3 open.

The workaround: use "shift + escape" instead of just the 'esc' key in other applications when you have Photoshop open.

Hope this saves some poor Windows/PS user a bit of frustration... it certainly has made things just a bit less aggravating for me!

It's because Photoshop uses the escape key within the program, such as when you are in the middle of selecting something with the lasso tool and you mess up or change your mind, you can just hit escape and it cancels the selection. You can also use escape to cancel the text changes you just made if the type tool is still active. I'm sure there's more . . .

@Nathan sure, but lots of programs use the escape key, and I can still use it in other programs when those are open. The Adobe CS apps seem to steal it, no matter what else is open. This is still a common annoyance in my workflow.
